Chai Wala (Cardamom)

Back in elementary school we had an assignment to log our meals for a week. Super easy no fuss type of assignment right? Well at the time it wasn't. How the hell was I supposed to explain what bhakri was to the class? Thepla? Chai might've been the most "normal" thing but at the time Starbucks had not yet caused a national chai latte craze so again I don't think anyone would've quite gotten it. I wasn't ashamed or anything. Bhakri and chai is a breakfast staple. I literally had it this morning. But 10 year old me couldn't navigate explaining/sharing cultural background as well as I can now. You tend to appreciate these kind of things more as you get older too I guess. Anyway come have some chai with me and I'll queue up another story.
